Some shoots are smooth. Others test your creativity and grit. Our recent behind-the-scenes roofing at the Cazeault Roofing shoot? A little bit of both—and a whole lot of teamwork.
We set out to capture what most people don’t see: the precision, danger, and craftsmanship that goes into professional roofing. With a full crew, gear in hand, and a forecast that looked cooperative, we began day one strong. But like any real story, the magic happened in the unpredictable moments.
To tell this story right, we used a three-shot approach:
🔹 Photo – Our photographer was on the ground, snapping detailed stills that captured the texture, tools, and technique up close. The grit on gloves, the shine of new shingles, the focus in the crew’s eyes—these shots brought authenticity and character.
🔹 Gimbal – For smooth, cinematic movement, our gimbal operator weaved through ladders and scaffolding, capturing walk-ups, over-the-shoulder views, and interior-exterior transitions. The footage gives viewers the feeling of walking right alongside the crew.
🔹 Drone – Roofing work is best appreciated from above. Our drone team caught sweeping aerial shots of the crew in action, offering a bird’s-eye view of both the craftsmanship and the scale of the project. Sunrise lighting and wide angles added a dramatic layer we couldn’t get from the ground.
The forecast flipped on us overnight—because of course it did.
Day two came with steady rain and slick surfaces. Safety came first, but so did flexibility. Instead of scrapping the day, we pivoted:
This shoot was a reminder that storytelling isn’t just about perfect conditions—it’s about showing up, pivoting when needed, and finding beauty in the unexpected. The rain didn’t ruin our vision; it sharpened it.
We walked away with a reel that’s raw, real, and beautifully cinematic—and a team that once again proved they’re built for more than just a plan. They’re built for whatever it takes.
Want to see the final cut? Stay tuned—it’s worth the wait.
